Farmers’ Health Cooperative of
Wisconsin allows farmers and agribusiness to purchase health
care as a group, increasing their buying power and giving them
access to the many advantages of group health care purchasing.
A primary goal is to stabilize insurance rates to help members
plan for their future health costs. By spreading risk over a
large and stable health insurance pool, members will be able
to avoid high rate increases. The quality of Farmers’
Health Cooperative plans exceeds what is available on the market
to individual farmers today. Members may be able to find cheaper
insurance for a year or two, but they won’t get the protections
available through Farmers’ Health Cooperative.
Farmers’ Health Cooperative
is member-owned and governed. Like other cooperatives, it
is a non-profit business that will invest future profits back
into the cooperative and its members. Farmer’s Health
Cooperative recognizes the cost benefits of injury prevention,
disease management and the use of generic medications. Plans
include first dollar preventive care for services such as
routine physicals, immunizations and screenings.
